GOALIE MENTORING SERVICES

What do we offer?

The Mental Side of Goaltending

As you most likely already know, so much of the position we play is mental. We will focus on building confidence, resilience, and consistency in our young goalies. We work on game-day mindset, handling pressure, bouncing back after goals, and developing routines that keep you locked in from warm-ups to the final buzzer. The goal is to help goalies stay calm, focused, and confident in every situation.

Video & Film Review

Video review breaks down game and practice footage to identify strengths and areas for improvement. We analyze positioning, depth, rebound control, and decision-making to help goalies understand why plays happen, not just what happened. This process builds hockey IQ and accelerates development through clear, actionable feedback. We will also go through my own clips from Division 1 College Hockey games to build hockey IQ

The Free Consultation Call is a chance for us to connect, learn more about your goalie, and see if Blue Paint Performance Mentoring would be a good fit. We’ll talk through their current goals, strengths, challenges, and the areas they want to improve, whether that is confidence, consistency, preparation, handling pressure, or overall development.

I’ll also explain how the mentoring process works, answer any questions you may have, and help determine which plan would best support your goalie moving forward.

The Mental Performance Plan is designed to help young goalies build the mindset, confidence, and preparation habits needed to perform at their best. Through personalized one-on-one mentoring calls, we work on the mental side of goaltending, handling pressure, bouncing back after goals, staying focused, building confidence, preparing for games, and developing the routines and habits that separate strong goalies from the rest. Goalies will also receive weekly goalie education emails with valuable lessons, reminders, and insights to support their growth on and off the ice.

The Complete Goalie Development Plan includes everything in the Mental Performance Plan, with the added benefit of personalized video review. Along with one-on-one mentoring focused on confidence, focus, preparation, handling pressure, and the mental side of goaltending, goalies will receive detailed breakdowns of their own game or practice clips to better understand their habits, decision-making, and areas for growth.

Video sessions may also include clips from my own college games to teach important concepts through real examples, helping goalies see how positioning, patience, reads, recovery, and game management translate at a higher level. Goalies will also receive weekly goalie education emails to continue supporting their development between calls.

About Me.

My name is Nick Bevilacqua, and I’m a current Division 1 college hockey goalie at Bentley University, where I study Finance and Professional Sales. I combine elite-level athletic experience with a strong academic and business foundation, but more importantly, I understand the journey because I’ve lived it.

I grew up in a small town in Massachusetts and started playing hockey at five years old. Like so many young goalies, I fell in love with the position early and dreamed of playing Division 1 college hockey. I spent my youth years with Boston Advantage and the Boston Jr. Eagles, then chose the prep school route to continue chasing that goal. While I made progress, I didn’t take the “perfect” or traditional path to college hockey, and that changed everything.

At a pivotal moment after high school, and no "prominent" junior league to play in, I had to decide whether to walk away from the dream or bet on myself when others might not. My dad told me something I’ll never forget, “If you’re good enough, they will find you, no matter where you are.” I believed him. I committed fully to the process, played two full seasons in the NCDC junior league, and eventually earned my commitment to Bentley University during my age-out season.

Today, I’m thriving both on and off the ice, but the road here was far from simple. There were countless times when my parents and I felt lost, unsure of the next step, and wishing we had someone who had already been through it. That experience is exactly why I started this company.

I know what it takes, not just physically, but mentally, emotionally, and strategically, to pursue the college hockey dream as a goalie. My mission is to give young goalies and their parents the guidance, clarity, and confidence I wish I had growing up. I don’t just want to coach technique. I want to mentor, support, and walk alongside goalies as they navigate one of the most challenging and rewarding journeys in sports.

To the goalies I work with, I aim to be more than a coach, I want to be a mentor, a resource, and an older brother they can trust. To the parents, I want to be someone you know genuinely cares about your child’s development, growth, and future.

If your goalie has big dreams, I’m here to help them chase them the right way.
